The mission of S/SE is to provide opportunities to gather in order to develop supportive and mentoring relationships in an environment of Christian fellowship for the purpose of home educating our children according to God’s Word.

Moms’ Breakfasts
Offered the first Saturday of every month, except June, July, and August starting at 8 am. The location of the Moms’ Breakfasts is at the First Baptist Church, 10750 SE 42nd Ave Milwaukie, OR 97222 (Park on 42nd and Jackson). This meeting is potluck style, so bring some breakfast foods to share. This activity is offered to homeschool moms in the Southeast area both members and non-members alike. We come together to support one another through fellowship, prayer and short presentations given by members of the group and leaders in our community.
The following is a list of group activities for members only:
Presentation NightThis is a family event scheduled once a year. It gives students the opportunity to share oral/musical presentations or table displays with other homeschool families. It is open to S/SECHE members only. Extended family of those members may attend. This event is usually in the spring.
End of the Year Field DayThis family event is usually in June and wraps up the school year for our group. We enjoy each other’s good cooking, play games such as kickball/volleyball/baseball, and have LOTS and LOTS of races. It is also a time when we conclude programs that have been going on all or part of the year, such as pen pals and we add a small garage sale style used cirriculum sale. LibraryOur group has collected many books and tapes and makes them available for check out on a monthly basis. This is a tremendous resource for our members.
Other ActivitiesMany other activities are made available to our group by outside sources such as school pictures, outdoor school/science camp, swimming lessons, roller and ice skating, music, Spanish, writing, play groups, science classes, sports and gym activities, art classes, 8th grade graduation and co-op information. Particulars pertaining to these are made available through the newsletter and at the Moms’ Breakfasts. Many of these are handled by members of S/SECHE. Note: Not all of these opportunities are offered every year. |
